MixMatchMusic: Online Music Collaboration
Promoting your music could include various forms of networking, and MixMatchMusic gives musicians another outlet to promote and create music.
MixMatchMusic is currently in private beta and is riding the wave of new social sites such as Valooza, catering to musicians looking to collaborate online. Their process includes uploading recorded loops and then using their online sequencer and network to share and exchange ideas and music. You can seek out collaborations or just upload and let the community do the work.
I like the fact that its not just for musicians, its for all looking to learn how music is made. They currently are not open to all, but you can be considered to join by signing up via email.
The beauty of this is networking with fellow musicians can be such a great asset to your marketing. Musicians are hungry for exposure and if you meet several artists like you, your marketing can become viral.

Thanks for this post! I am a co-founder at MixMatchMusic, and wanted to let all the readers of Hip Hop Distribution know that we’re hard at work at refining our private beta and that it will be ready soon!
Your description of our service is correct, in that we harness social media tools to empower musicians to collaborate on music online and engage fans. But, we also provide a transparent way for musicians to manage the co-authorship rights that emerge from collaboration, and a novel way that they can profit from their works. More on this soon…
