Stereofame is a music social network that puts a twist on the way artists and listeners interact. From a marketing standpoint, this “social music game” is excellent. The rule of the game is to get as many points as you can and then cash them in on great rewards. Fans and artists can both benefit here. Myspace Music’s recent relaunch gave users alot of new features to promote their music and add to its viral ability. Fans can now create playlists on their profiles and Myspace offers a huge catalog of major and indie labels to basically stream music from. The new layout adds to the power of music marketing that will create a new way to promote various artists and group members for free. Within the paid arena, Myspace Advertising offers another form of targeting potential customers. Bojam is an online music collaboration service that allows hundreds of millions of musicians and music professionals around the globe to create tracks with fellow artists. Try joining some open projects or or create your own. The thing that impressed me in the video is the Bojam Mixer, which is available right in the web browser. The mixer allows musicians to record, playback, mix and edit songs in a multi-track setup. Bojam also claims to have a built in mechanism allowing musicians to publish and sell their projects and collect royalties.
