Stereofame: Promote Through Social Music Game
Thursday, November 27th, 2008Stereofame is a music social network that puts a twist on the way artists and listeners interact. From a marketing standpoint, this “social music game” is excellent.
The rule of the game is to get as many points as you can and then cash them in on great rewards. Fans and artists can both benefit here.
Artists can earn points by having their music listened to or getting a “thumbs up”. Listeners can become a “label” and earn points by discovering great music, determined by the listeners who give it a thumbs up or thumbs down. This interaction is great so your listeners can help promote the artist they like by adding your music to their profile.
The setup is quick and easy:
- Upload your music(mp3) or YouTube videos of your band
- Fill out your band information
- Upload a picture of yourself
- Add links to all your other social network profiles
I uploaded 3 of my songs and placed one available for download for free for all signed up members. People appreciate free music and I wanted my new visitors to enjoy a free song.
There is a great section called “Profile Stats” where you can see your daily profile views, listeners, thumbs up, and how many times your track has been downloaded.
The “Listener History” section is great for learning more about your visitors. You can see who listened to your music and what track they heard in particular.
If you are looking to build a bigger fanbase or network then Stereofame adds some fun to that marketing plan. Sign up and add me as a friend (http://www.stereofame.com/lostthought). Spice up your marketing plan and have some fun listening to some good indie music.
